Game of Emotional Roles

10 minutes game

ABOUT

Game Concept

Locked Loop is a fast-paced, reflective game where players explore their default emotional patterns through the Drama Triangle a psychological model featuring three core roles in conflict:

  • Victim (V): Feels helpless, overwhelmed, or hard done by
  • Persecutor (P): Controls, blames, or criticizes others
  • Rescuer (R): Tries to fix others’ problems or avoid conflict by over-helping

Each round, a player reads a real-life scenario marked with one of these roles and listens to how the others would respond in that situation. They then judge who best fits the printed role and hand over the card. The game ends after 5 minutes, and your most collected role reveals your Locked Loop Role.

This Rulebook

Objective :-

To be judged based on how your answers match the assigned role on each card.
The more you fall into a role, the more you collect its cards.
At the end, the role you’ve collected most defines your Locked Loop Role  the role you unconsciously take on in real-life tension.

Setup

Place the Scenario Card Deck in the center.

Place the 10-Minute Timer nearby.

Give each player space to track the cards they’re handed.

Choose any player to go first.

How to Play

Turn Structure:

  1. Draw a Card
The current player becomes the Scenario Reader.
They draw a Scenario Card from the top and read it aloud.
  2. Note the Role
At the top of the card is an initial
This is the role the Reader will be judging for.

    • V = Victim
    • P = Persecutor
    • R = Rescuer

Other Players Respond
All other players respond in-character to the scenario in 1–2 sentences.

Judge & Assign
The Reader chooses the one player whose answer best fits the role on the card and hands them that card.
That player adds it to their role stack.

Next Turn
Move randomly. The next player becomes the new Reader/Judge.
Repeat until the 10-minute timer runs out.

If the Judge Can’t Decide:

  • If no one fits the assigned role well, the Judge says “PASS”.

  • They draw a new Scenario Card and read it aloud.

  • However, they cannot be judged that round  meaning they miss the chance to collect a card for themselves.

  • Play continues normally with the new scenario.
